Although I will on occasion eat the Mexican-inspired “food” at Taco Bell or even have a couple of those things at Jack in the Box that they call tacos, I much prefer the real thing. I happened to be in the area, about 20 miles from home but just a couple of miles from my old job, so I decided to stop in for some proper tacos and Coke with some honest-to-god sugar in it. Good stuff...

Besides the beach, proper Mexican food is the thing I miss most having moved from SoCal to the Midwest. It took a bit of a search, but I found a good place that is owned by a Mexican family that moved here from Los Angeles.
Heaven to me would be Mexican food eaten at the beach. That’s my simple goal in life should I become wealthy and can retire...

Roast pork loin with squash and red onion. Also green beans and Mac n cheese, but they’re just leftovers so not as photogenic.

That looks delicious. I had grilled chicken that was made in an Emirati-style (I know it’s a brine and marinade process) along with a rice/salad/potato side. It was fucking delicious.

These are actually quite alright for what they are and they are only 50p each also.
I’m home now so going to finish off last night’s corned beef hash and then maybe do a potato and onion Spanish omelette and some streaky bacon.
